I’m a 15-year old Irish champion racing driver who has been selected to race in this year’s British Ford Formula 4. I’m passionate about racing and have won a number of awards, including the following in the past four years:
- Irish junior karting driver of the year 2013
- Munster karting championship 2014
- Irish karting Club championship 2014
- Southern Karting Club Championship 2014
- Motorsport Ireland National Karting championship 2014
- Irish Karting club champion 2016
- Irish race of champions trophy 2016
I started racing karts aged 9, at which point it became my dream to race professionally. I’ve enjoyed every race since then and even had the honour of representing Ireland twice in the world championships.
I’m one of 6 drivers selected by Motorsport Ireland for the Irish elite driver program at Dublin City University high-performance sports science department. I have my sights set on a career in Formula 1 and am currently the number 1 driver with Falcon Motorsport.
There are 10 different nationalities racing in British F4. I’m not only the only Irish driver this year, it turns out I’m actually the first Irish driver ever to sign with a team to race in British Ford Formula 4.
I’ve managed to progress through the karting circuit and now it’s time to make the step up to Formula 4. I know it isn’t going to an easy journey but I’ve got this far and I’m determined to make my mark as a professional racing driver.
There will be hurdles along the way, there will racing incidents, car damage and mechanical problems. Dealing with these issues is part of the experience and the challenge.
